Oceanic Core Complexes (OCCs) in back‐arc basins are not as thoroughly investigated, and their termination processes remain poorly understood. The Godzilla Megamullion is the largest known ceased OCC on Earth, yet magmatic and hydrothermal records from its termination are lacking. Here, we present an integrated study of gabbroic and basaltic rocks from the termination of the Godzilla Megamullion. The zircon U‐Pb age‐dating of gabbroic rocks constrains the latest magmatic activity to 7.93 ± 0.14–8.23 ± 0.04 Ma, falling below the regional regression line and suggesting a decline in spreading rate prior to cessation of the back‐arc basin. These gabbroic rocks record anomalously high water contents and H2O/Ce ratios in clinopyroxene and calculated parental melts, suggesting synorogenic magma‐seawater interactions during ridge termination. The high‐temperature amphiboles (640°C–845°C) in these gabbroic rocks are also consistent with deep activities of seawater along the detachment faults. We propose that magma‐seawater interactions played an important role in the formation and evolution of the Godzilla OCC.
To investigate the tectonic evolution of the Proto‐Tethys Ocean, this study focuses on ophiolites that record the evolution of the North Qilian Ocean basin—a key representative remnant of the Proto‐Tethys Ocean. It aims to provide critical constraints on the tectonic history of the North Qilian Ocean by constraining...
As a significant branch of the eastern Tethys Ocean, the Jinsha Paleo‐Tethys Ocean has attracted widespread attention in the past decades. However, the closure timing of the Jinsha Ocean and the dominant mechanism of continental growth remain subjects of intense debate. This study presents new evidence of ridge subduct...

Cenozoic felsic magmatism along the northern Tibetan Plateau records the evolution of thickened continental crust, yet Miocene intrusions in the East Kunlun Orogen remain poorly constrained. Here we integrate field and petrographic observations with zircon U-Pb geochronology, zircon Lu-Hf isotopes, and whole-rock geoch...
The features of arc magmas are inherited from the modified lithospheric mantle sources. Within oceanic subduction zones, the subducted sediment-derived fluids play a critical role in governing the geochemical variations of arc magmas. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether the chemical signatures of arc magmas preser...

The International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 369 recovered high‐quality deep‐sea sediments from Site U1516 in the Mentelle Basin, offshore southwest Australia, spanning back to the Late Cretaceous. Here we present an integrated chemostratigraphic study of the Oligocene–Miocene interval at Site U1516,...

The timing and nature of the Late Paleozoic tectonic transition along the western northern margin of the North China Craton (NCC) remain debated because arc-related and post-collisional magmatism overlap in the Damao–Siziwangqi region. We present zircon U–Pb ages, in situ Lu–Hf isotopes, and whole-rock geochemistry for...
