TL;DR

Atrial fibrillation and PVCs are significantly associated with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction, in contrast with NSVT, which shows are significantly associated with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction in contrast with NSVT, where there is no significant association with increasing severity of left ventricular systolic dysfunction.

Abstract

Background: Heart failure is a clinical syndrome resulting from certain causes, such as ischemic heart disease, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, smoking, thyroid diseases, myocarditis, metabolic syndromes, and others. When heart failure developed, patients were prone to certain complications. One of the most common complications is arrhythmias. Patient and Method: An observational-cross-sectional study at the Ibn- Albitar Cardiothoracic Center from December 2017 until January 2019. One hundred patients above 14 years old with left ventricular systolic dysfunction are included. Twenty-four-hour Holter monitoring for those patients had been applied. Results: Mean age 54.4 years, 78 were males, and 22 were females. All patients studied had EF less than 50%, with fifty-four of them having EF less than 30%, while forty-six patients had EF more than 30%. 54 patients with DCM and 46 patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy. Holter Monitoring revealed 37 patients with NSVT, 28 patients with AF, and 8 patients with PVCs. Conclusion: Atrial fibrillation and PVCs are significantly associated with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction, in contrast with NSVT, which shows are significantly associated with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction in contrast with NSVT, where there is no significant association with increasing severity of left ventricular systolic dysfunction. although it is significantly associated with left axis deviation, left bundle branch block, and left ventricular aneurysm.

Short-term right heart reverse remodeling with vericiguat in HFrEF: reductions in pulmonary arterial pressure and chamber dimensions

Background Heart failure is the end-stage of various cardiovascular diseases. Although a variety of drugs have slowed down the progression of the disease, the prognosis of heart failure patients remains unsatisfactory. Vericiguat can improve left ventricular function, but there is relatively less research on its effect...

Study of Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction in Relation to HbA1c and Duration in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Background: Diabetes mellitus affects multiple organ systems, including the heart, kidneys, and peripheral nerves. Diabetic cardiomyopathy — myocardial dysfunction occurring independently of ischemic, valvular, or hypertensive heart disease — often manifests first as left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD), prece...

Sex differences in acute heart failure: Clinical presentation, imaging findings, and short-term recovery.

BACKGROUND Sex differences in chronic heart failure are well established, but corresponding differences in acute heart failure (AHF), particularly in multimodal imaging findings and short-term recovery, remain incompletely characterized. METHODS In this prospective observational study, 567 adults hospitalized with AH...

Determinants and prognostic significance of reduced heart rate variability for mortality and functional outcome after acute ischemic stroke

Impaired HRV is associated with unfavorable functional outcomes and increased all-cause mortality in patients with ischemic stroke, and the identification of autonomic dysfunction may provide additional insights into post-stroke prognosis.
