Selection and parameter optimization of the foundation structure for floating offshore wind turbines
Abstract
As the development of wind energy extends into deeper offshore waters, the stability and reliability of floating platforms have become critical research focal points. This study focuses on the selection and parameter optimization of a semisubmersible platform for floating offshore wind turbines. A comprehensive three-dimensional hydrodynamic model was developed using ANSYS software to analyse the platform's dynamic performance. The simulation integrates the coupled effects of waves, ocean currents, and wind loads to replicate realistic and harsh marine environments. Through systematic parameter optimization, the platform's dynamic responses were significantly improved. The surge displacement fluctuation range was successfully reduced to a range of -1.025 m to 3.753 m. Furthermore, a notable decrease in the roll angle was achieved, enhancing overall stability. The analysis of the mooring system revealed a safety factor of 1.92, which substantially exceeds the design standard of 1.67, thereby confirming the system's robustness and reliability under extreme sea conditions.
