Abstract
ARTICLE INFO ABSTRACT This study addresses the critical challenge of efficiently and cost-effectively managing energy in microgrids with high renewable energy penetration. It employs a robust energy management system framework that utilizes advanced forecasting models and incorporates robust optimization techniques to account for the uncertainty in renewable generation and load demand. Key strategies include demand-side management, energy storage optimization, and real-time power flow control. The integration of electric vehicles with vehicle-to-grid capabilities further enhances system flexibility and cost savings. The findings suggest that robust optimization and coordinated control can effectively mitigate the challenges posed by renewable intermittency, ensuring reliable grid operation while minimizing costs and maximizing renewable utilization. The comprehensive approach, integrating advanced forecasting, real-time control, and the flexibility of EVs and energy storage, provides a practical solution for increasing renewable energy adoption in microgrids.
