Abstract

This article critically analyzes María Lugones’ thought to examine the extent to which her theory of the coloniality of gender provides foundations for a decolonial ecofeminist formulation; the study is delimited to the articulation between gender, race, and nature within the modern/colonial system, addressing how categorical logic contributes to both the dehumanization of racialized women and the instrumentalization of nature; the methodology is qualitative and theoretical-critical, based on bibliographic research and Lugones’ main works in dialogue with decolonial and ecofeminist authors; the analysis brings the coloniality of gender into dialogue with the coloniality of nature and identifies the fractured locus as a site of resistance and knowledge production; the article proposes decolonial ecofeminism as a critical synthesis developed from Lugones’ thought in dialogue with decolonial political ecology, grounded in interdependence, care, and the critique of modern-colonial rationality.
