TL;DR

These mitogenomes represent the first publicly available genomic resources for the genus Hemimyzon and provide valuable data for future taxonomic, evolutionary and conservation studies of Balitoridae.

Abstract

Abstract In this study, the complete mitochondrial genomes of two balitorid fishes from the upper Pearl River, China, namely Hemimyzon megalopseos and Hemimyzon pumilicorpora, were sequenced and assembled. The mitogenomes were 16,571 bp and 16,568 bp in length, respectively, each containing 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, and one control region. The overall A + T content was 55.76% in H. megalopseos and 55.63% in H. pumilicorpora. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 13 PCGs confirmed that the two Hemimyzon species form a clade sister to Sinogastromyzon. These mitogenomes represent the first publicly available genomic resources for the genus Hemimyzon and provide valuable data for future taxonomic, evolutionary and conservation studies of Balitoridae.

MITOGENOME REPORT The complete mitochondrial genome of Rhynocoris altaicus Kiritshenko, 1926 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae)

Abstract In this study, we assembled and characterized the complete mitochondrial genome of Rhynocoris altaicus Kiritshenko, 1926, a predatory assassin bug distributed in the eastern Palearctic that feeds mainly on lepidopteran pests. The circular mitogenome is 16,177 bp with 70.20% A+T, comprising the typical set of 3...

The complete mitochondrial genome and phylogenetic position of Orthaga aenescens Moore, 1888 (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

Phylogenetic analysis suggests that among the sequenced Pyralidae mitochondrial genomes, O. aenescens is most closely related to O. euadrusalis and Locastra muscosalis, supporting its placement within the subfamily Epipaschiinae.

Complete mitochondrial genome of Arcuatula japonica (Mollusca: Mytilidae: Crenellinae) and its phylogenetic analysis

Abstract Arcuatula japonica (Dunker, 1857) (Mollusca: Mytilidae: Crenellinae) is a marine mussel distributed primarily in the northwestern Pacific. To clarify its evolutionary position and evaluate the taxonomic status of Crenellinae, we sequenced and characterized the complete mitochondrial genome of A. japonica. The...

The complete mitochondrial genome and phylogenetic analysis of the Jawala paste shrimp, Acetes indicus (Decapoda, Dendrobranchiata, Sergestidae)

Abstract We have analyzed the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of the Jawala paste shrimp, Acetes indicus. The genome sequence was 15,785 bp in length and encompassed 39 features: 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 23 transfer RNAs, 2 ribosomal RNAs, and a control region (CR). Although typical metazoan mitochondrial...
