Abstract

: In today’s fast -paced environment, sticking firmly to medications poses issues for healthcare acutely, notably for older adults and patients whose cognition weakens. Incorrect medication intake often causes serious health issues. In order to address this issue, we propose an IoT-enabled Smart Medicine Box that integrates a web interface for alarm scheduling as well as real-time notifications and automated medicine dispensing. The ESP32 microcontroller is like the foundation of this system along with servo motors for managing medicine compartments. User presence can be detected via a PIR sensor so push buttons confirm intake while a buzzer and LED provide alerts. Caregivers or patients can use via the web-based interface three daily medicine reminder alarms. If something detects motion, the buzzer stops so the servo motor unlocks the corresponding compartment. If the patient does not press the confirmation switch within one minute the system marks the dose as missed. This integrated approach works to improve medication adherence and to provide feedback that is timely. It also offers a reliable healthcare support solution at low cost for vulnerable populations.
