Abstract
The purpose of this study is to address the gap in conventional student worksheets (LKS), which often fail to provide comprehensive foundational grammar and lead to significant learning difficulties for students with no prior Arabic language background. To solve this issue, this study developed an innovative Nahwu (Arabic grammar) electronic book (e-book) integrated with Mahmud Ahmad’s pedagogical approach. Conducted at MAN 2 Kediri, the study employed the five-stage ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) framework. The e-book itself was designed utilizing Canva software. The media’s validity and practicality were rigorously evaluated by two media experts, five instructional practitioners (teachers), and student respondents through qualitative and quantitative descriptive analyses. The validation results yielded an 88% approval rating from media experts and 75% from material experts, both falling into highly valid criteria. Furthermore, the practicality tests demonstrated exceptional results, scoring 90% from teachers and 85% from students. These findings confirm that the developed Nahwu e-book is highly valid, practical, and viable for broader classroom implementation. The implementation of this study was specific to tenth-grade students at MAN 2 Kediri. The practical implication of these findings is that the developed e-book offers a highly viable and promising tool to enhance tenth-grade students' Arabic reading proficiency (Qiro'ah), especially for those struggling with a lack of prior language background. The originality of this research lies in the development of a digital-based Nahwu e-book designed utilizing Canva software that uniquely integrates Mahmud Ahmad’s pedagogical approach, specifically tailored to bridge the learning gap for beginner Arabic learners.
