Design and Implementation of Smart Fire Evacuation System with IoT Monitoring System
Abstract
Fire accident is one of the major threats to human life and property. Safe evacuation is particularly difficult in densely populated urban buildings. Thus, the design and implementation of Smart Fire Evacuation System with IoT monitoring and Emergency escape chute have been presented in this study. The proposed system is based on the ESP32 microcontroller interfaced with smoke, temperature and flame sensors for continuous environmental monitoring. A fire controller provides an audible alarm when the fire signals are over a threshold set-up and it also triggers the deployment of the escape chute as well as sending real-time alerts on an IoT platform and SMS. Testing under simulated fire conditions demonstrated reliable fire detection, stable system operation, and effective emergency response performance. The proposed system has provided the occupants' safety through the early detection of fire, automatic evacuation support and remote monitoring system, which makes it a practical solution to improve the fire safety in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
