Advances in Agricultural and Food Processing Sectors using Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

The three most attention attractions from the food industry are nutritional value, food quality, and processing methods. Subsequently, the food industry is experiencing growing pressure from consumers who are demanding foods that are of high quality, excellent taste, and long shelf life. Advanced applications in the food industry are today carried out using deep learning, AI, and ML algorithms. Ideally, as technology in AI and ML continues to improve, dealing with drifting issues that surround food processing has become easier. Circular economy-based models help maintain resources within the system by utilizing one of the 10 R processes: A few of these include: Recycle, Rethink, Remanufacture, Repurpose, Recover, Refurbish, Refuse, Reuse, Repair, and Reduce. A more efficient supply chain management system is needed to increase food packaging, shelf life and food safety. This article highlights some of the ways AI and ML are being used in food processing and preservation, including in logistics management, the baking industry, food, dairy and fruit processing, meat production, and the preservation of food processing tools.
