Improving the Methodology for Mastering Language Levels Through the Development of Students’ Linguistic Competencies

Sep 2026 · CURRENT RESEARCH JOURNAL OF PEDAGOGICS · 0 citations

Abstract

This article examines methodological approaches to improving students’ mastery of language levels through the systematic development of linguistic competencies. The study focuses on the relationship between students’ knowledge of language structures and their ability to apply linguistic resources effectively in academic and communicative contexts. Particular attention is given to the integration of vocabulary, grammar, phonetics, semantics, and discourse-related skills within a competency-oriented learning framework. The research proposes a methodology that combines diagnostic assessment, differentiated instruction, contextual learning activities, communicative tasks, and continuous formative evaluation. The proposed approach is designed to identify individual learning needs and provide students with progressively more complex linguistic tasks corresponding to their level of language proficiency. The findings indicate that purposeful development of linguistic competencies can contribute to more stable language acquisition, improved accuracy of language use, and greater confidence in communication. The study also emphasizes the importance of learner-centered instruction, authentic language materials, reflective activities, and feedback in achieving sustainable progress across language levels. The proposed methodological framework can be adapted to higher education and other structured language-learning environments.
