Downlink and Uplink Time-Power Allocation for Full-Duplex Integrated Sensing and Communication Systems
Abstract
Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) shares spectrum and hardware for radar sensing and wireless communication, while full-duplex (FD) operation enables simultaneous transmission and reception. In this letter, we investigate time-power resource allocation for an FD-ISAC system and develop two schemes: fixed-time power allocation (FTPA), which optimizes transmit powers with predetermined communication durations, and joint time-power allocation (JTPA), which jointly optimizes timing and powers. The resulting optimization problems minimize the total transmit power subject to radar signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and communication rate constraints and are handled via alternating optimization (AO). Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed designs.
