AI-Driven Smart City Infrastructure: Integration of IoT and Big Data Technologies

Abstract

Third urbanization in modern cities, the call for smarter, sustainable, and resilient urban infrastructures is growing. The AI, IoT and Big Data technologies are the most important enabler that helps traditional cities become smart cities to improve the efficiency of operations, build natural resources and improve quality of life. We conduct a systematic review of the underlying AI based smart city infrastructure integrating IOT devices & Big Data analytics for enabling Intelligent Decision making and real-time urban management. IoT-based sensors gather data in real-time from transportation systems, energy grids, water supply networks, waste management facilities, environmental monitoring stations, and public safety systems. The results show that the integration of AI, IoT and Big Data create a solid technology basis for implementation to offers citizens sustainable, resilient and citizen focused technological-based urban infrastructure which can effectively tackle this alarming growth challenges antique to urbanization.
