INTERNATIONAL TRADE EXCHANGE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA: ANALYSIS OF EXPORTS, IMPORTS AND TRADE BALANCE IN THE PERIOD 2015–2024
Abstract
The paper analyzes the international trade exchange of the Republic of Serbia in the period 2015-2024, with special reference to trade relations with Europe, Asia, Africa, America, Oceania and the Polar region. The aim of the research is to analyze the dynamics of exports, imports, trade balance and the degree of coverage of imports by exports using descriptive statistics and comparative analysis. The results indicates the continuous growth of international trade of the Republic of Serbia, with the permanent presence of a trade deficit. Europe represents Serbia's most important international trade partner, while trade with Asia is characterized by a high deficit, and with Africa a predominantly surplus. The findings confirms the need for strengthening export competitiveness, technological modernization and diversification of export markets in order to improve international trade performance and sustainable economic development.
