CHANGES IN THE STRUCTURE OF SELLERS AT THE LARGEST RUSSIAN MARKETPLACES
Abstract
The ongoing boom in online commerce in Russia, as in many other countries, was mainly reflected in the rapid growth of marketplace revenue. For many small and medium-sized sellers, the largest Russian electronic platforms have become the only or main sales channel, providing them with access to a multi-million customer audience. Due to changes in the general economic conditions in the country, a decrease in the growth rate of the marketplace sector, an increase in the average commission level on the part of sites, increased complexity of logistics processes when fulfilling customer orders, new regulatory restrictions have a significant impact on the activity of sellers on sites, on the main economic indicators of their activities. The study examines quantitative data on the activity of sellers on the main Russian marketplaces, examines their rotation and duration of work with marketplaces, the structure depending on revenue, the duration of cooperation with the site, and the amount of revenue.
