Abstract

The article is devoted to substantiating the development trajectories of the system of sustainable development of enterprises of the fuel and energy complex in the context of technological and institutional changes. The purpose of the study is to propose a conceptual approach to revising the current ESG model of industrial sustainability management, considering the increasing role of technological factors. The methodological basis consists of systemic and institutional analysis, elements of strategic and risk-based approaches. In the course of the work done, the current situation of the existing management system for the sustainable development of fuel and energy companies was described. During the research, it was revealed that the sustainability of the fuel and energy sector is determined not only by environmental, social and managerial parameters, but also by the level of technological maturity, innovation potential and digital adaptability of companies. Accordingly, the article substantiates the need to expand the traditional ESG paradigm by including the fourth component of T (Technology). The ESGT model is proposed, which provides a comprehensive assessment of the strategic sustainabil-ity of enterprises. The methods of system analysis, synthesis, and classification are used in the work. The results of the study can be used for further analysis of the proposed model, or in the formation of corporate strategies, investment policy and mechanisms of government regulation of the industry. The research prospects are related to the development of a methodology for quantifying the technological component of sustainable development.
