MODERN CHALLENGES TO UKRAINE’S NATIONAL SECURITY: A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO STRENGTHENING STATE RESILIENCE
Abstract
The concept of national security has changed considerably in recent years. States today face military, cyber, economic, energy, informational and infrastructural threats that often develop at the same time and reinforce one another rather than appearing in isolation. Ukraine illustrates this shift clearly: the full -scale war has shown that a state's ability to defend its territory depends heavily on the stability of its economy, energy system, critical infrastructure, institutions and society as a whole. The article below looks at defence capability, national resilience, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, economic and energy security, institutional capacity and international cooperation, arguing that strengthening national security is not just a matter of military capability — it also depends on whether the state and society can keep functioning, adapt under pressure and recover once a crisis has passed.
