Biomedicina estética e regenerativa: avanços científicos, aplicações clínicas e perspectivas para a prática biomédica
Abstract
Aesthetic and Regenerative Biomedicine has become one of the fastest-growing fields within the health sciences, driven by advances in cell biology, biotechnology, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. This study aimed to analyze the scientific advances, clinical applications, challenges, and future perspectives of Aesthetic and Regenerative Biomedicine, highlighting its contribution to the development of therapies based on the stimulation of physiological tissue repair mechanisms. This research is characterized as a qualitative narrative literature review, based on the analysis of scientific articles, books, and official documents published primarily between 2015 and 2025, retrieved from PubMed, SciELO, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and official regulations issued by the Federal Council of Biomedicine. The findings indicate that technologies such as Platelet-Rich Plasma, collagen biostimulators, hyaluronic acid, microneedling, exosomes, and biomaterials have significantly expanded therapeutic possibilities by promoting neocollagenesis, angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and tissue regeneration. However, the literature also highlights important challenges related to protocol standardization, the production of stronger scientific evidence, professional regulation, and the continuous qualification of biomedical professionals in response to rapid technological advances. It is concluded that Aesthetic and Regenerative Biomedicine is undergoing continuous scientific consolidation and presents significant potential for the development of increasingly safe, personalized, and evidence-based therapies, provided that scientific research, professional training, and ethical and regulatory standards continue to evolve.
