Abstract

General Background Education forms the primary foundation for developing human resources and shaping moral character within Islamic institutions. Specific Background Madrasah Diniyah functions as a non-formal religious institution where instructors frequently struggle with traditional memorization-based teaching methods that misalign with student characteristics. Knowledge Gap Previous studies predominantly explore formal school leadership frameworks, leaving a significant void regarding contextual administrative approaches for abstract subjects within non-formal religious educational settings. Aims This study analyzes the internal and external leadership frameworks utilized by educational administrators to advance the instructional capabilities of linguistics educators in Gempol District. Results A descriptive qualitative approach utilizing participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation reveals that administrators successfully implement dialogic academic supervision, instructional role modeling, and external professional training. These interventions structurally shifted the classroom dynamic from rigid memorization to student-centered, contextual learning, thereby increasing student comprehension of abstract linguistic concepts. Novelty This research specifically diagnoses and models a contextual leadership framework tailored to the unique structural and cultural dynamics of non-formal Islamic education. Implications Educational administrators must actively integrate diagnostic institutional analysis with continuous, dialogic academic supervision to ensure sustainable professional development and responsive classroom instruction. Highlights: Dialogic academic supervision structurally transforms traditional memorization methods into student-centered instructional dynamics. Contextual leadership frameworks successfully address the unique administrative challenges of non-formal religious institutions. External professional training and instructional role modeling directly increase student comprehension of abstract linguistic concepts. Keywords: Academic Supervision Innovation, Contextual Leadership, Instructional Dynamics  Nonformal Education  Student Comprehension
