Holistic education aims to enhance critical thinking, creativity, empathy, and social responsibility of the learners. NEP 2020 intends to develop individuals through a multidisciplinary, inquiry-based approach that integrates real-world applications, creativity, and emotional intelligence for their overall development. NEP 2020 encourages lifelong learning, moral values, and global citizenship, promoting responsible leadership and sustainability. However, in the implementation of holistic education in India it may encounter obstacles such as inadequate teacher training, a dominant exam-oriented culture, inefficient infrastructure and resistance to change. These barriers can be addressed through professional development, curriculum restructuring, improved infrastructure, inclusive education and public awareness initiatives are essential for the success. NEP 2020 framework provides a significant opportunity to redefine and reshape the education system in India by preparing students to contribute for better personal and social life in this rapidly changing world.
