Assessment of the effectiveness of innovation activities in the manufacturing industry
Abstract
Introduction. The innovative development of the manufacturing industry makes a significant contribution to the innovation-oriented growth of the Russian industry and the national economy as a whole. The current conditions, which are complicated by economic sanctions and the geopolitical situation, require improving the efficiency of its innovative activities. Goal. The purpose of the study is to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of innovation activities in the manufacturing industry and identify current development trends. Materials and Methods. The study is based on a systematic approach and scientific publications on the evaluation of innovative activities. The information and empirical base were formed by the data of statistical observation on the form № 4 – innovations for 2019-2024. The study uses quantitative and qualitative analysis methods including comparison, systematization, generalization, and visualization of data. Results and discussion. It has been shown that the manufacturing industry continues to develop a positive trend related to the effectiveness of innovation activities and the intensity of costs associated with them. A positive trend has been identified in the main resource and output indicators of innovation activity efficiency, which are determined by the level of technological development in the industry. The highest share in the total volume of innovative products is accounted for by medium-tech industries with a low level of technological development. The high-tech sector holds the leading position in terms of the rate of increase in the volume of innovative products. The indicators reflecting the intensity of costs and the effectiveness of innovation activities in this sector significantly exceed their average level in the manufacturing industry. Conclusion. The article concludes that there is a correlation between the indicators characterizing the effectiveness of innovation activity and the intensity of costs, which demands the development of financial mechanisms for ensuring the development and implementation of innovations and government support measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of innovation activity in manufacturing industries.
