Weighted Sum Model on the Cloud: A Modern Approach to Multi Criteria Decision Making
Abstract
Cloud technology, or cloud computing, provides on-demand access to shared computing resources such as servers, storage, software, and applications through the Internet. It reduces the requirement for substantial physical infrastructure while offering scalability, flexibility, accessibility, and cost efficiency. Cloud computing has become an important enabler of digital transformation, supporting technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and the Internet of Things. Nevertheless, issues related to cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and vendor dependency require effective management. This study applies the Weighted Sum Model (WSM), a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) technique, to evaluate and rank alternative strategies according to selected criteria. The alternatives considered are Work Integration (A1), Visual Management (A2), Certified Energy Management System (A3), Life Cycle Assessment Tools (A4), and Employee Financial Participation Programs (A5). Based on the evaluation, A3 achieves first rank, followed by A1, A5, A4, and A2. Thus, the Certified Energy Management System is identified as the highest-ranked alternative
