Abstract

This article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations for transforming support mechanisms for innovative activities of agro-industrial enterprises under martial law. Full-scale military aggression has fundamentally altered the operating conditions of agrarian business, as a result of which innovative activity acquires significance not only as a factor of technological renewal but also as an instrument of adaptation, preservation of production potential, and ensuring the economic resilience of enterprises. Revealed in the study is the essence of innovative activity of agro-industrial enterprises in the context of contemporary wartime challenges. Identified are the key factors necessitating the transformation of innovation support mechanisms, including the growth of security risks, financial instability, disruption of logistics chains, accelerated digitalisation, personnel shortages, and energy and resource constraints. Systematised are six key groups of support instruments – financial, institutional, digital, organizational-cooperative, international grant-based, and security-adaptive. Five scientific approaches to forming innovation support mechanisms for agrarian business are generalised, and priority directions for their improvement are substantiated, with emphasis on financial and investment incentives, digital infrastructure development, and institutional coordination among the state, business, science, and international partners. Results of the study may be utilised by agro-industrial enterprises in developing adaptive innovation strategies, by public authorities in designing wartime and post-war agricultural policy, and by international donors and financial institutions in structuring programmes for supporting the recovery of Ukraine's agricultural sector.
