Preface: The 7th International Conference on Environmental Resource Management (ICERM) 2026

Abstract

Global environmental challenges, including climate change, environmental degradation, increasing pressure on natural resources, and rapid socio-economic transformation, have become increasingly complex and interconnected. These issues influence spatial systems, urban development, water and marine resources, as well as ecosystem sustainability at various scales. Therefore, integrated and adaptive environmental management supported by strong human resources is essential to achieve sustainable development. Comprehensive studies and multidisciplinary collaboration are needed to strengthen environmental governance, promote sustainable practices, and support responsible utilization of environmental resources. The Department of Environmental Geography, Faculty of Geography Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, has long been committed to advancing research and academic collaboration in environmental resources management. In order to enhance understanding and collaboration in sustainability issues, the Faculty of Geography aims to organize the 7th International Conference on Environmental Resources Management (ICERM).
