Abstract
Highlights • Cell death is a key biological process to maintain tissue homeostasis and prevent abnormal cell accumulation.• NETosis is mediated by the release of extracellular traps (NETs) from neutrophils and, although this is an immune defense mechanism, is associated with pro-inflammatory, metastatic, and thrombotic processes in some cancers.• IRCDI is expected to be an important biomarker to guide individualized treatment of oral cancer.
