Implementasi Media Digital Gimkit Dalam Pembelajaran IPAS Materi Ekosistem Untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa
Abstract
Ecosystem learning in the Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) subject at the elementary school level still faces several challenges, particularly low student motivation to learn, driven by teacher-centered instructional approaches and limited use of interactive learning media. This study aims to describe the use of the Gimkit digital learning platform in ecosystem education and its role in enhancing the learning motivation of fifth-grade students at SDN Pondok Kopi 02 Pagi. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and a learning motivation questionnaire as supporting data. During the implementation process, the teacher prepared the initial learning materials, while the researcher assisted in preparing questions, modifying the learning modules, participating in the implementation of Gimkit, and accompanying the students throughout the learning process. Data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while the credibility of the findings was ensured through triangulation of methods. The findings indicate that the implementation of Gimkit created a more active, interactive, and enjoyable learning environment. These gamification features fostered students’ enthusiasm, participation, attention, and perseverance throughout the learning process. Although there were several challenges, including limited devices and unstable internet connections, teachers and researchers provided guidance and adapted teaching strategies to classroom conditions. Therefore, Gimkit can serve as an alternative digital learning medium to support students’ motivation in the IPAS subject at the elementary school level.
