Abstract
This critical notice assesses Matthieu Queloz’s The Ethics of Conceptualization , highlighting its compelling pragmatist account of concepts as tools shaped by human needs. It argues, however, that Queloz’s reasons for concept use do not constitute a fundamentally new kind of normative reason but instead recast familiar questions about normative authority at the conceptual level.
