Abstract

Currently, some gas wells in the Changqing Oilfield produce high water content. After gas well shutdown, conventional technologies such as foam drainage, plunger lift, and velocity string cannot meet the demand for continuous drainage and production of large liquid volumes. The testing results of strong drainage technologies such as jet pumps, mechanical pumping, and electric submersible pumps are not ideal, and the efficient development of high-water-producing gas wells is restricted by this. Based on the current large well group development mode and status of the Changqing Oilfield, this paper proposes using ancient wells in the same well pad as gas source wells for continuous gas lift through natural gas compressor pressurization, achieving continuous production through “energy supplementation and gas enhancement” to solve the problem of drainage and gas production in high-water-producing wells.
