Baby Boy
Abstract
If genetics could accurately predict a child’s future capacity for evil, would you still give them a chance at life? In this work of philosophical short story fiction, Marie Muller is informed that her unborn son has been genetically identified as a future psychopath without a conscience. Facing a government-mandated abortion, she flees to Ireland under a new identity to raise her son, Daniel, in secret. Years later, she must decide how to handle her now-eight-year-old son after he is linked to a tragic death in their village.
