Abstract

The particularities of modern aspects of economic functioning consider the accelerated pace of digital transformation implementation across all spheres of life. This is particularly relevant for strategic management and the ability of companies to respond to change. The article explores the essence of digital transformation as a key tool for the innovative development of high-tech companies. It highlights current trends in the digitalization of business processes and outlines the role of information and communication technologies in shaping competitive advantages in the global market. Given the rapid implementation of digital tools such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, blockchain, and robotic systems, the author distinguishes between digitalization, digitization, and digital transformation, emphasizing that digital transformation is no longer an optional component but is becoming a necessary condition for ensuring companies’ flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in the context of high technological volatility. The study analyzes the specifics of digital changes and identifies features unique to the high-tech sector, which is characterized by high rates of innovation implementation, dynamic changes in market conditions, increasing dependence on IT solutions, and the need for continuous updating of personnel competencies. It is determined that, unlike the traditional view of digital transformation as a process of automation or digitalization of individual functions, in high-tech business, transformation has a systemic nature, encompassing organizational structure, business model, corporate culture, and management approaches. As a result of the research conducted, it is concluded that effective digital transformation of high-tech companies is a multi-level, phased process that requires strategic vision, flexible management, leadership support, and a focus on long-term customer value. Directions for further research are proposed, in the field of evaluating the effectiveness of digital initiatives, developing models of digital maturity, and assessing enterprises’ readiness for the digital economy.
