Abstract

The article investigates the semantic field of national-cultural symbols in Ukrainian folklore and defines the principles of editorial processing of their linguistic expression in modern texts. The methodological basis is a combination of linguofolkloristic, structural-semantic, linguoculturological, semiotic, pragmatic and textological approaches. It is found that national-cultural symbols function as an open hierarchical system, the core of which is formed by the concepts of Ukraine, land, mother, family, home, will, memory and life, and the periphery - phytomorphic, zoomorphic, cosmogonic, landscape, family-domestic, ritual, musical-epic, verbal-communicative and new hybrid images. It is established that symbolic meaning arises in the interaction of denotative content, genre model, traditional associations, pragmatic guidance and historical and cultural context. It is substantiated that the modern media environment activates the processes of reactualization, resemantization, variation, anonymization and memetization of symbols, while at the same time increasing the risk of their semantic reduction. The main models of editorial processing of folklore texts are systematized and the criteria for choosing between diplomatic, scientific-critical, normalized, parallel, adaptive and multimodal methods of representation are determined. The necessity of distinguishing between transliteration and transcription, preserving dialect and textual variation, marking editorial interventions, contextual commenting on culturally specific units and compliance with ethical requirements when publishing materials of living and military folklore tradition is proved. The principle of minimally necessary and maximally transparent editorial intervention is proposed, which ensures a combination of linguistic normativity, textual reliability and preservation of ethnocultural semantics.
