ANALISIS KESALAHAN PENGGUNAAN BAHASA SESUAI EYD PADA KOMENTAR DALAM POSTINGAN MENGENAI ISU MBG DI INSTAGRAM
Abstract
Social media has become a space for written communication in which users frequently employ informal language that does not always conform to standard Indonesian spelling conventions. This study aims to identify and describe spelling errors in Instagram comments on posts discussing the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program based on the fifth edition of the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling System (EYD V). This study employed a descriptive qualitative method using 20 Instagram comments collected from posts published between September 11 and 23, 2026. Data was collected through non-participant observation and note-taking techniques, then analyzed according to the spelling rules established in EYD V. The findings revealed various spelling inconsistencies, particularly in capitalization, word formation, preposition usage, abbreviations, numerals, and punctuation. Common examples included lowercase letters in official abbreviations, numbers used to indicate repeated words, incorrect spacing in prefixes and prepositions, informal abbreviations, nonstandard spelling, and excessive punctuation. These findings indicate that Instagram comments on the MBG issue contain various forms of written language that do not conform to EYD V. This study highlights the importance of understanding Indonesian spelling conventions when examining written communication on social media.
