Aug 2026 · Izvestiya of Saratov University. Sociology. Politology · 0 citations

Abstract

This article examines the peculiarities of the influence of modern high technologies on military policy and national security of the state. The author notes that there has been a transition from the three-dimensional environment of military confrontation to a multidimensional – spatial one. The space of struggle is becoming not only the aerospace, marine and land environment, but also the deep rear, the information environment and the psychology of the masses. In this area, which is unusual and undeveloped for subjects of military policy, high-tech means of warfare are beginning to play a leading role, that is, weapons based on new information technology and physical principles, including artificial intelligence. The author refers to modern technologies of military policy as technical means – unmanned aerial, land and sea vehicles, as well as concepts of a socio-informational nature, called “soft power”, “smart power”, “hard power” in the West. The results of a sociological study conducted by the Department of Political Sciences at Saratov State University confirmed the influence of modern technologies on military policy. Where slightly more than half of the respondents are more or less indifferent and even negative about upholding Russia’s national interests in terms of its implementation. This is a clear result of the “soft power” policy of our detractors towards the consciousness of Russian youth. Modern combat technology has also seriously changed the battlefield, now high technologies, including artificial intelligence, have begun to play a decisive role in the war. This allows us to draw a conclusion about the effectiveness of both technical and socio-information technologies and their impact on the military policy and national security of the state.
