Abstract

Certain hazardous colours are being released into waterways by industries, endangering human health and the environment. As a result, both the environment and citizens are growing increasingly concerned about the presence of dye in water bodies. It may have an impact on aquatic plants photosynthetic processes and lower the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. The impact of dye concentration on two distinct strains was investigated in this study. Following an evaluation of these strains ability to remove dye, a number of parameters were calculated, including chlorophyll, carotenoids, protein, carbohydrates, flavonoids, phenolics, antioxidant activity, and photosynthetic activity. The results showed that Desertifilum salkilinema is less sensitive than Chlorella vulgaris. These results highlight the two strains capacity to bioremediate the dye while reducing its environmental impact.
