LEVERAGING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TO ENHANCE QUALITY TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION IN THE FACE OF CHALLENGES AND INSECURITY IN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL) IN BORNO STATE
Abstract
The study explored how artificial intelligence (AI) can boost quality of technology education in colleges of education (technical) in Borno State, even with the challenges and insecurity they face. The researches set out two research questions and two null hypotheses to guide their work. They used a descriptive survey design, focusing on all 144 respondents from the colleges no sampling needed, since everyone was included. Data was collected through a 17 items questionnaire, carefully checked by three experts and proven reliable (0.796). They analyzed the data using mean, standard deviation, and t-test at a 0.05 confidence level with SPSS. The results showed that AI based learning platforms, AI-powered virtual classrooms, AI tools improves access to instructional materials, AI-based simulations and virtual laboratories enhance practical learning in technology education where access physical workshops is limited, AI-supported learning systems improve students understanding of technical concepts, AI-driven assessment tools assist lecturers in monitoring students’ progress, AI provides flexible learning opportunities among others. Technical difficulties make it hard for staffs to understand AI, high cost of installing AI tools are big hurdles among others. The study recommends that government should invest in AI infrastructures as will improve quality technology education.
