APPLICATION OF CORPORATE BLOCKCHAIN FOR DATA STORAGE AND AUDITING IN A DECENTRALIZED SYSTEM FOR MANAGING THE LIFE CYCLE OF ROLLING STOCK
Abstract
The increasing level of informatization of the lifecycle and maintenance of rolling stock is accompanied by a growth in data volumes and higher requirements for their verifiability, immutability, and accessibility for participants of the industry ecosystem. This paper investigates the applicability of the corporate blockchain platform Hyperledger Fabric as a trusted distributed layer for storing and auditing critical lifecycle data. A decentralized system architecture has been designed and implemented, incorporating the Raft consensus mechanism, an access control infrastructure based on the Membership Service Provider (MSP), and support for private data collections. An experimental evaluation and comparative analysis with the centralized relational database management system PostgreSQL were conducted based on key criteria (immutability, transparency, fault tolerance, privacy, and performance, including throughput — TPS). The results demonstrate that the use of blockchain provides cryptographically guaranteed traceability and simplifies audit and certification procedures at the cost of increased transaction execution time. The study substantiates the feasibility of using Hyperledger Fabric not as a replacement for centralized database systems, but as an additional trusted layer within hybrid data management architectures.
