Photogrammetric Model of High-Resolution Radar Imaging of Earth Surface Areas
Abstract
The paper examines the feasibility of using a photogrammetric model to implement high-resolution modes in modern spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems. Implementing high-resolution SAR modes requires accounting for the relative spatial geometry between the spacecraft and the ground target, as well as orbital mechanics and geometric imaging constraints. An analysis of key parameters—including squint angle, slant range, and Doppler frequency—has been carried out to determine the conditions necessary for achieving high-resolution imaging. The results can be applied to planning high-detail radar observations for infrastructure monitoring, geodetic measurements, and other practical applications.
