From Copilots to Ecosystem Agents: AI Orchestration and Management Innovation in Internet Platform Ecosystems
Abstract
Agentic AI is becoming a coordination layer for the internet economy, but research still emphasizes task automation. Comparing Amazon, Alibaba, and Shopify, this paper develops an AI orchestration configuration (AIOC) framework based on intelligence locus, action authority, data and service boundary, and governance safeguards. It identifies consumer transaction agents, ecosystem orchestrators, and merchant-governed copilots, showing that greater AI authority requires bounded access, observable action, reversibility, and explicit accountability.
