AZIZ NESIN HIKOYALARINING TARJIMADA BERILISHI MASALASI (“Edebiyat Meraklısı” hikoyasining ikki o‘zbekcha tarjimasi misolida)
Abstract
This article provides a comparative translation studies analysis of two Uzbek translations of the Turkish writer Aziz Nesin’s story “Edebiyat Meraklısı”: the translations by Rahmat Bobojon (Translator 1) and Shodmon Otabek (Translator 2). The study examines the degree of lexical-semantic, stylistic-register, and cultural-connotative correspondence between the source text and each of the two translations. Specific examples are used to identify and demonstrate translation errors and losses. The findings shed light on the particular challenges of achieving equivalence in the translation of humorous and satirical texts, especially those related to reproducing speech distortions, wordplay, and socially connotative meanings.
