Abstract
This article analyzes the need to modernize legal education in response to the ethical, technological, and social challenges of the twenty-first century, with the purpose of strengthening a more relevant, critical, and justice- and human-rights-oriented legal training. A literature review was conducted based on 20 sources published between 2008 and 2024, including 10 academic articles, 6 theoretical books, 2 postgraduate theses, and 2 informational documents, which made it possible to encompass historical, pedagogical, and contemporary perspectives on legal education. The search was carried out between January and April 2025 in databases and repositories such as Google Scholar, EBSCO, Scopus, and CICCO, through which relevant literature was retrieved to analyze the transformations and challenges of the legal training process. The results showed that traditional methods focused on lectures and memorization are insufficient to meet current demands, whereas active methodologies such as problem-based learning, the analysis of real cases, trial simulations, legal clinics, and collaborative work enhance analytical, ethical, and procedural competencies. It was concluded that pedagogical reform is essential for training competent and ethical lawyers capable of responding to a constantly changing society.
