Effectiveness Analysis of Npk 2 Bagging Operations Using Oee, Six Big Losses, and Fmea: A Case Study At Pt Xyz

Sep 2026 · International Journal of Science, Technology & Management · 0 citations

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the level of effectiveness of the NPK 2 Bagging facility at PT XYZ through the application of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Six Big Losses, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) methods. The data taken is facility data during the January-July 2026 period. OEE is used to measure effectiveness based on availability, performance, and quality, while Six Big Losses is used to identify dominant losses. Furthermore, FMEA is used to determine the priority of failure modes based on Severity (S), Occurrence (O), and Detection (D) through the calculation of Risk Priority Number (RPN). Based on the results of data processing, the average effectiveness of the facility is shown by an availability value of 80.19%, performance of 85.21%, and quality of 99.48%, with an average OEE value of 67.23%. Meanwhile, the evaluation using the Six Big Losses method showed that Equipment Failure Loss and Reduced Speed Loss were the losses with the highest percentage, 12.67% and 12.58%, respectively, and Setup and Adjustment Loss of 7.14%. The three losses were then analyzed using FMEA to determine the failure mode with the highest risk priority as the basis for the preparation of repair proposals. Improvement proposals were focused on improving facility maintenance, controlling the weighing system and operating speed, as well as reducing setup time and facility adjustment.
