Abstract

The article explores the concept of educational excellence from a broad perspective, integrating pedagogical, organizational, and professional dimensions. Given the complexity of the term, it proposes approaching excellence not as an abstract ideal, but as a balance between academic quality, comprehensive student development, professional ethics, and social purpose. The text analyzes how structural factors—such as teacher selection, training, and working conditions—significantly influence the practical realization of this excellence. Relevant obstacles are identified, including the high incidence of sick leave, bureaucratic overload, teacher stress, and the assumption of tasks that exceed the professional role, especially with regard to students' emotional well-being. It also highlights the need for a clear demarcation between functions and competencies, as well as the urgency of moving towards more coherent and shared standards that guarantee equity, pedagogical continuity, and professional authority. The article concludes that achieving educational excellence requires a strong structural framework, stable policies, sufficient resources, and clear recognition of the teaching profession, avoiding its fragmentation and ensuring conditions that allow for the development of high-quality and sustainable practices in the long term.
