Administrative and human talent management in the face of Industry 4.0: A global systematic review with implications for Latin America
Abstract
The digital transformation driven by Industry 4.0 poses challenges and opportunities for administrative management and human talent in productive sectors, especially in Latin America. In order to understand these dynamics, a systematic review was developed under the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, aimed at identifying how digitization processes impact organizational efficiency and worker adaptation. The research was based on a rigorous protocol that defined objectives, search sources, inclusion and exclusion criteria, as well as data synthesis and analysis procedures. The search was conducted in international databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO, covering the period 2010–2025. A total of 142 documents were identified, of which 20 final articles were selected for analysis after screening and eligibility assessment. The information extracted was organized into a matrix that allowed for the classification of variables such as country, year of publication, technology applied, administrative processes studied, role of human talent, and results obtained. The findings show that administrative digitization enhances the efficiency, innovation, and resilience of organizations, provided that it is accompanied by technological investment, training programs, and support policies. Likewise, organizational culture and leadership were identified as key factors in overcoming resistance to change. The main limitations are related to low productivity in Latin American contexts and the predominance of quantitative methodologies. In conclusion, administrative transformation in the face of Industry 4.0 requires a comprehensive approach that articulates technology, human capital, and institutional frameworks, establishing itself as a strategic path toward sustainable competitiveness in the region.
