Abstract

The article presents the results of studying the effect of two types of diets on milk productivity, the chemical composition of milk and hematological parameters of lactating Romanov sheep. The studies were conducted in stable conditions from 02/06/2026 to 04/06/2026 on the basis of the experimental economic station VNC RAS - group No. 1 (Olginskoye village) and the farm of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the State Agrarian University – group No. 2. The object of the study was sheep of the Romanov breed (n=10, age 3 years) with two lambs each. Two groups of 5 heads were formed: group No. 1 (a diet with a high content of hayloft and sunflower meal) and group No. 2 (a diet with a high level of compound feed concentrate). It was found that by the third month of lactation in group No. 1, the fat content in milk was 7.17% versus 7.09% in the control, protein – 6.15% versus 6.04% (p<0.05), dry matter – 18.82% versus 18.80%. The live weight of lambs at three months of age was 0.9 kg higher (p<0.01), and the average daily increase in the first month was 61 g (224 versus 163 g). Biochemical blood parameters indicate a more favorable carbohydrate-energy metabolism in group 1 queens (glucose 3.94 versus 3.80 mmol/L, urea 4.68 versus 4.78 mmol/l).
