Abstract

The head of a madrasah is the highest leader within an educational institution and plays an important role in managing, directing, and developing all the potential available within the madrasah. This study aims to analyze the role of the head of the madrasah in developing an entrepreneurial culture based on Islamic values at MA Ar-Rusydiny NW Segaet. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the head of the madrasah plays the roles of leader, motivator, innovator, and supervisor in developing an entrepreneurial culture based on Islamic values. The integration of Islamic values is implemented through learning activities, habituation, and entrepreneurial practices by instilling the values of honesty (ṣidq), trustworthiness (amanah), responsibility, discipline, and hard work. The implementation of the entrepreneurial culture is supported by the leadership of the head of the madrasah, the active involvement of teachers, a religious madrasah environment, and students’ motivation. Therefore, the leadership of the head of the madrasah plays a strategic role in developing an entrepreneurial culture that is not only oriented toward students’ skills and independence but also grounded in Islamic values.
