Digitalization of the Russian Labor Market in the Context of Socioeconomic Differentiation
Abstract
This article analyzes the digitalization of the Russian labor market through the lens of socioeconomic differen-tiation, which allows for a shift from merely stating technological changes to assessing their heterogeneous social effects. The introduction of digital platforms and remote work has a dual potential: while increasing labor flexibility, it simultaneously deepens structural gaps between industries, regions, and occupational groups. Based on statistical data, a strong correlation is revealed between regional digital activity and income dynam-ics, with the most vulnerable groups being those with poor educational attainment and those with operational professions. Socioeconomic differentiation is not as a passive consequence, but as an active context that modi-fies institutional changes, including labor legislation and social protection mechanisms. In conclusion, the arti-cle argues for the necessity of transitioning to a socially invasive strategy that involves targeted measures to reduce digital inequality and retrain personnel as a prerequisite for preventing the entrenchment of social dis-parities.
