THE MEDIATING ROLE OF JOB SATISFACTION BETWEEN MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE IN IT FIRMS IN DELHI

2025 · Journal of Applied Bioanalysis · 0 citations

Abstract

The IT sector in Delhi is characterized by high work pressure, tight project schedules, and continuous digital engagement, making employee mental well-being a critical determinant of organizational success. This study examines the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between mental health support and organizational performance within Delhi-based IT firms. Drawing from organizational psychology and the Job Demands–Resources framework, the study proposes that mental health support—such as counseling services, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), stress-management training, and well-being policies—positively influences organizational performance by first enhancing employees’ satisfaction with their work environment. Using a quantitative research design and structured questionnaires administered to IT professionals in Delhi, the study analyzes how perceived mental health support affects satisfaction levels, motivation, emotional stability, and overall engagement. The findings highlight that employees who perceive their organizations as supportive of mental health report significantly higher job satisfaction, which in turn strengthens key performance outcomes such as productivity, teamwork, innovation, and reduced turnover intention. The mediating effect of job satisfaction is found to be substantial, indicating that mental health initiatives do not directly elevate organizational performance unless they simultaneously foster a positive emotional and psychological climate for employees. This suggests that IT firms must not only offer mental health programs but also ensure that employees feel valued, supported, and satisfied in their roles. The study underscores the strategic importance of integrating mental health support with human resource policies to drive sustainable organizational excellence in Delhi’s competitive IT landscape.
