AGROFORESTRY AS A MECHANISM FOR PRESERVING FOREST RESOURCES IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Abstract

This work is devoted to the issues of assessing the applicability of agroforestry practices in general for the preservation of forest resources. In the course of the study, based on the analysis of sources, the main practices of agroforestry that are promising for implementation in the forests of the Russian Federation were identified, the main advantages and disadvantages of relevant practices are shown, and a theoretical justification for the effectiveness of agroforestry as a forest climate project was given. As a result of the study, prospects for the reconstruction and creation of new protective forest plantations within the framework of agroforestry practices have been identified, and it has been established that in this case it is possible not only to preserve, but also to create new forest resources.
