Patient Satisfaction and Experience in Inpatient Care: A Systematic Review of Global Evidence
Abstract
Patient satisfaction in inpatient care is a crucial dimension of healthcare quality, impacting outcomes and service efficiency. A systematic review was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, sourcing articles from PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, and Google Scholar (2010 - 2023). Overall, 78 studies were analysed. Key satisfaction drivers included provider communication, staff responsiveness, and the hospital environment. Variations in satisfaction were linked to geography, cultural factors, and institutional practices. Recommendations focus on communication training and patient engagement.
