The impact of digital technologies on the fundamental value of credit institutions: methodology and empirical assessments
Abstract
The article investigates the relationship between the level of digitalization in the banking sector and the market value of credit institutions. It is substantiated that traditional valuation methods do not fully account for the influence of intangible assets generated through the adoption of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, and blockchain technologies. Based on an analysis of Russian and international practices, it is demonstrated that digital transformation reduces operating costs, enhances the accuracy of risk management, and creates long-term competitive advantages, which ultimately is reflected in the growth of banks’ fair value. A conceptual framework for incorporating digital factors into valuation models is proposed.
